Embracing My Curls: The Journey to Unleashing My Inner Lioness
For years, I struggled with accepting my natural curls, much like many teenagers who don’t see the beauty in their unique features. I went through a phase of straightening my hair (gladly wasn’t permanent), trying to conform to what I thought was more desirable. It wasn’t until I moved to the United States at 18 that everything changed. I found the right hair products, ones that truly nourished and enhanced my natural curls. Slowly, I began to see what had been there all along – the strength and beauty in my curly hair, a power that made me feel confident, like a lioness embracing her mane (corny.. I know! Haha But so true).
The journey of accepting my curls transformed my life, and learning how to style them with a curling iron was a game-changer. It’s not just about heat; it’s about choosing the right size barrel for your curls and knowing how to enhance their natural texture. I use many different sizes though. The process became part of my self-care routine, reminding me of the strength my curls represent. I don’t used everyday of course, but whenever I have the patience (I have a loooot of hair). Like my star sign, Leo, I wanted to unleash my inner lioness, to feel bold. Once I mastered this, my curls truly became a part of my identity, a signature look that felt natural and empowering.
As a model, I realized that my hair became one of my greatest strengths. When I embraced my curls, my confidence grew, and clients noticed. Suddenly, I was being booked because of my hair – something I once tried to hide. It’s incredible how accepting and enhancing what makes you different can open doors. Curls, like any natural feature, have a beauty all their own, and learning how to take care of and style them not only changed my look but transformed how I see myself.
Hope you all release this inner lion inside of you all!
